ASW Distillery Becomes UGA Athletics' Official Craft Spirits Partner

Hunker Spirits, made by ASW Distillery, has been named the first and only official craft spirits partner of the University of Georgia Athletic Association. The brand is created by Georgia graduates to support Georgia Athletics. ASW Distillery is the most awarded U.S. craft distillery at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition since 2018 and is now in its 10th year. The company started from a friendship between co-founders Jim Chasteen and Charlie Thompson, who were undergraduate roommates in Athens before building an Atlanta distillery that opened in 2016. The partnership covers both Hunker Vodka and Hunker Bourbon. Bulldog fans will see it through a launch video on UGA Athletics' social channels, a dedicated email to the Bulldog community, and Hunker creative running on the statewide radio network all season. Hunker Spirits are distributed in Georgia by United Distributors. Jim Chasteen, co-founder and CEO, said five members of the ASW team are Georgia graduates and that UGA is where the company began. Co-founder Charlie Thompson and partner Kelly Chasteen also shared their personal connection. The partnership is one of several milestones in ASW's 10th-anniversary year, which has also included collaborations with the Atlanta Braves, Big Green Egg, and John Deere.
